Caravane s’étoffent...
Après les lins lavés « Luni », le Lin Sauvage, la collection « Folio » imprimée à la planche au Rajahstan, et tous les autres que vous connaissez sans doute, voici 5 tissus coup de coeur.
La collection Assia est composée de motifs imprimés au cadre à la main sur une lourde toile de coton.
Chacun d’entre eux est unique par son inspiration, son évocation et son coloris.
Comme pour tous les tissus édités par Caravane, la recherche s’est portée sur la finition, la matière, le traitement des couleurs. Le lavage donne à cette collection un aspect particulier par son toucher, et des couleurs « bisées »
Nara – Simplicité des cercles, jeu du vert et blanc sur fond noir. La technique d’impression utilisée, à l’encre « rongeante » rend ce tissu aussi intéressant à l’envers qu’à l’endroit.
Nagoya – Motif découvert sur un fragment de satin de soie des années 30, transposé et recolorié.
Kyoto - Patchwork de kimonos anciens, rayures et unis
Sakura - Comme un papier peint des années 20, redécouvert
Anfa -Jacqueline Giacolette Boisanfray assemble et brode avec une expression toute personnelle et profondément originale des motifs exubérants sur des toiles anciennes. Ce grand motif est composé de plusieurs de ses dessins.

Assia Collection
The latest in Caravane’s fabric collection
5 seductibe new designs to complement Luni washed linens, heavy Lin Sauvage, Folio hand block prints from Rajahstan, and our other lines of fabric.
Assia is composed of five hand screen prints on a heavy washed cotton canvas. Each design is unique in its inspiration, evocation, and colouring
As with all Carvane fabrics, particular care was taken in selecting, finishing and colouring of the ground cloth. Washing gives these fabrics their own particular handle and subtly faded colours.
Nara – Simple circles, contrast of green on black and white. The burn-out printing technique makes this fabric just as interesting on the reverse as on the right side.
Nagoya – We discovered this pattern on a fragment of silk satin from the 1930s, and reinterpreted the colours.
Kyoto -Patchwork of antique japanese kimopno patterns, stripes an plains
Sakura - Laike a rediscovered 1920s wallpaper
Anfa -Jacqueline Giacolette Boisanfray embroiders resolutely personal and deeply original works on antique textiles she collects. This large motif is composed of several of her exuberant designs.
Assia will be available in July 2008
